Fall into the Thompson Okanagan
The route Fall into the Thompson Okanagan was designed for the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA) as an autumn shoulder season tour to take place. Prior to starting the mapping project, we used the SWOT analysis that TOTA created to identify what type of tour we could create that would expand from the opportunities. There are five different stops that encompass different types of fall-themed activities including local produce and animals, a corn maze, a pumpkin scavenger hunt, u-pick produce, and fall games.
The route rationale for Fall into the Thompson Okanagan has the goal of accomplishing the following points.
- Getting friends and families of all ages out in nature while supporting local agriculture tourism during the shoulder season.
- Addresses their top issue of seasonality of demand by offering local day trip adventures during the transition from Summer activities to Winter.
- As one of TOTA’s priorities moving forward is to focus on experience-based themes, this tour will offer local flavors during the shoulder-season.
