About Me

Hello! I am Jeanine Yaworsky and I graduated with distinction in June 2022 from Thompson Rivers University with Bachelor in Tourism Management with a Tourism Studies Major. Within my four years at TRU, I took a facination with the event industry and took multiple different types of event courses, including one where we were tasked to create an online event from scratch. I am originally from Sylvan Lake, AB, and in 2012 my family moved out to Kelowna, BC. I am really interested in traveling, especially from a local point of view, and have spent a large portion of my life traveling, whether it be with family, friends, or solo. Besides traveling I enjoy bouldering, baking, and road trips.  I was drawn to study tourism at Thompson Rivers University through the Adventure program as prior to deciding to study tourism I was looking into studying architecture in Ontario. Through the Adventure Studies program, I eventually found the Bachelor of Tourism Management program and have loved the classes and information I have been learning since! Between the last two semesters, I have had the opportunity to work at Tourism Kelowna and be able to transfer some of the knowledge from multiple courses into real-life situations.

My feature photo was taken in Berlin, Germany on July 24, 2018, while I was traveling through Germany, Switzerland, France, and Spain before I started post-secondary education. I was mostly visiting past exchange students that had either stayed with my family or those with who I became friends during my high school years. As I said above I have always had an interest in architecture, but further learning the stories behind the buildings and it was incredible to have friends as my own local tour guide to their city. Below is a video I created from videos of the month of traveling.
